At SIIMA 2017, Katrina Kaif was a delight to watch. Flaunting her embroidered flowing yellow gown by Tony Ward, she symbolized what we say, “Beauty in Simplicity”. Right from her dress, makeup to accessories, everything was minimal and to top it all, she went with a messy updo hairstyle. In terms of jewellery, she went with a beautiful pair of diamond-studded earrings and a diamond statement finger ring to go with them. The carefully picked light and minimalistic jewellery accentuated her gown and her elegant appeal.

Trisha Krishnan

Trisha was dressed in a beautiful Varun Bahl Couture—embroidered white top with a multi-coloured embellished skirt. Although, she used minimal accessories too, she did sport a gold and kundan drop earrings which perfectly complemented her attire. The hanging pearl takes the piece of jewel to another level as it coordinates well with her white top. What also works for Trisha in this look, is her braided updo hairstyle.

Here’s a quick tip for you: When your clothes are as attractive and as colourful as the skirt worn by Trisha, follow the simple rule of “less is more” with jewellery.

Nayantara

Nayantara was pure class at the SIIMA event. She wore a plain black saree with a high-neck, silver-beaded blouse. She decided to pair this up with a silver-oxidized statement finger ring. She also skipped the earrings but went with a single ear cuff. If you ask us, the choice was perfect.

Tip: Although black looks great with gold, silver, platinum and diamonds, if your dress or saree has a hint of any of these metals, wear jewellery with the same metal. Nothing would have worked in Nayantara’s case better than silver oxidized jewellery.
Also, it’s always better to ditch neck jewellery if your blouse is embellished and high-necked.

Pragya Jaiswal

Pragya Jaiswal went all traditional with her jewellery at this year’s SIIMA. She wore a Banaras Lehenga with a purple blouse and dupatta. Her long necklace matched brilliantly with her attire, which was a purely Indian-heritage-inspired design. She paired it with a dual-tone stone-clad Jhumka which balanced her look superbly!

Tip: Ladies, if your dress is lightweight and has a solid colour, you can always go a bit heavy on the jewellery front. It will render the right kind of balance to your overall look.

Ritika Sign rocked this Camo gown with the perfect hairdo and equally complementing jewellery pieces. Her off-shoulder gown was paired with a multi string gold choker and a tasseled handcuff imparting a wild and natural flavour to her look.

Tip: If your dress belongs to a theme, such as a camo, going for similar-themed jewellery and hairstyle would underline your look/theme even more strongly.

Pooja Hegde

Pooja Hegde looked nothing short of an Indian princess (albeit not a traditional one) in this white floral embroidered gown. Her choice of going with a beautiful diamond necklace and earrings was bang on! The accessories and the white gown were superbly coordinated with the deep maroon lip and glossy makeup.

Lakshmi Manchu went for the desi-girl look in this lavender Tarun Tahiliani saree with an embellished matching blouse. As her saree was fairly light and flowy, she was a bit generous with her accessories and rightly so. Her silver finished long earrings accentuated her face and bare neck. She paired them with a stunning bracelet and a few rings to go with it!

Rakul Preet Singh

Rakul looked gorgeous in this one-sleeved slit black gown, combined with great confidence and style. Her complete-black look was completed with a pair of long silver finished earrings that matched her centre-partitioned straight hair that she decided to leave open. The embellished black clutch was a great choice too!
