Another great thing about the Motiv rings sleep tracker is that it doesn’t start tracking until you are actually asleep. It does this by monitoring your resting heart rate and once it has determined that you are sleeping it begins monitoring your movements for any restless behavior. You can then look over the data on the app, where it shows information for each night as well as giving you a weekly average.
BATTERY LIFE
The Motiv ring has a battery life of 3 days. This is by no means mind-blowing but for a battery this small, it’s good enough. To charge the ring, you need to use the supplied magnetic charger which plugs into a USB port.
It takes around 90 minutes to fully charge the device and this will need to be done when you first unbox it, as the ring is dead on arrival. Sacrificing 90 minutes at a time for 3 days of battery life is a very worthwhile trade though, so we can’t complain here.

A simple ring with NFC functionality built in. There are two inlays, one each side of the ring with separate NFC tags in each one. The idea is that you can program them to perform various functions or hold data. The inner (private) tag could serve as a way to unlock your smartphone or even your front door, while you might use the outer (public) tag to share contact information or provide a website link. There’s a free NFC Ring Control app that you can use to program your ring. Part of the attraction is that the ring does not require any power.
